MTN MOBILE KIOSK LAUNCH IN UBUHLEBEZWE
MOBILE network giant MTN partnered with Ubuhlebezwe Municipality in reaching the most vulnerable, marginalised communities through their Corporate Social Investment programme.
MTN handed over 5 Kiosk to street vendors and hawkers who are beneficiaries of Ubuhlebezwe Municipality, Mayor Cllr EB Ngubo welcomed this CSI initiative. “Youth accounts for over 60% of the population across, it is for this reason that we partnered with MTN to shift the key strategic focus of Corporate Social Investment (CSI) towards youth empowerment by handing over 5 kiosk to assist young hawkers in Ixopo and Highflats in selling goods and MTN products in a secured space. We believe that the government’s vision to build sustainable societies can be achieved through partnership and collaboration” Said Mayor Ngubo. The beneficiaries were identified through Local Economic Development programme.
This approach by MTN and Ubuhlebezwe IT and LED Unit systematically address job creation, enhance competitiveness and drive inclusive growth.
