The Mayor of Ubuhlebezwe Municipality Cllr EB Ngubo led the council together with the community of Springvalle, Ward 9 on a sod turning ceremony for the construction of Thandabantu Road. The construction works will include leering and grabbing, mass earthwork, road formation, stormwater pipe installation, importation of gravel material and processing, including the installation of inlet and outlet structures, sign installation, cleaning and handing over project to the community.
The committee then move to Ward 2 in Ixopo Town for the sod turning of Stuart Drive. The project is a construction of the full length of Stuart Drive starting from Grand Avenue to Cul-de-sac. The construction works will include the removal and disposal of wearing coarse, excavation and disposal of earthworks, import and process gravel material, stabilized layer, graded stone materials and laying of new wearing course, including the installation of new stormwater pipes, kerb and channeling including road furniture, like road signs, guard rails, channels road marking, where required. All drive ways damaged during the construction will be rehabilitated including the road reserve.
During construction, Stuart Drive will only be accessible to residences. All rubble or excavated material will be exported to old Mariathal quarry
