The residents from the Morningside Area in Ward 4 were complaining about the power outage in the area. The Mayor, Cllr EB Ngubo together with the municipal leadership held an extensive meeting this morning with Eskom officials to resolve the matter and restore power. From the meeting, the Mayor then met with the protesting community to give feedback on what was discussed in the meeting with Eksom. In Her address, the mayor reassured the community that the light will be back on, today. “We held a very long meeting with Eskom, we could not leave the meeting without an agreement that power will be restored before sunset.” Said Mayor Ngubo

 

The road to Morningside Area has been cleared for motorists. Law enforcement agencies are still in sight to monitor the situation.
